Can you ever truly outrun your family?
Ed Leale, ambitious eldest son of a Sicilian mafia Don, rejects his family’s criminal ties and escapes to New York to pursue his own dream - of building automaton robots.
But quickly realizes he cannot outrun his name.
In an evolving world where innovation blurs the line with corruption, Ed must confront the chilling truth: will his ambition to construct good, transform him into the very monster he sought to escape?

THE ORIGINS
EI8HT began in 2017 as a short five minute animation (which went on to win BEST ANIMATION and BEST OVERALL WINNER at the 2019 Moving Image Awards at the BFI, London.
In 2018, I developed the concept into an opera.
In 2019, a sold-out semi-staged concert version premiered at The Other Palace Theatre in London's West End, in conjunction with the Tete A Tete Opera Festival.
That same year, another sold-out production took place at the world’s largest Steampunk Festival in Lincoln.
I've since completely rethought and rewritten the piece as a contemporary book musical.
